There is no god like our God. He is greater. He is stronger. He is wiser. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. We worship him today because he deserves nothing less. As we continue our message series on “Understanding Worship” we examine what it means to worship in Spirit and in truth. In John 4:23-24 Jesus says that the Father seeks those who would worship in this manner. So how do we worship in spirit and truth.
Worshipping in spirit and truth involves accepting the invitation to worship. It is recognizing the grace in this invitation. We have been given the highest privilege to worship! It means setting aside our preferences in worship. When we make worship about what we “like” we limit our experience of God. Finally, it is recognizing that the worship we offer here is rehearsal and audition for the worship to come. We set our sights on what worship will be and could be rather than what we have experienced in the past.
