June Verse of the Month
All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit.Proverbs 16:2–3, ESV
Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
We are tentatively planning a soft re-opening on Sunday, July 5. Because of regulations, this worship service will be limited to 50 people (unless restrictions are lifted). You will likely be required to reserve a spot to attend this worship. It will also be live-streamed for those who are unable to physically attend. We will not be able to provide nursery care during this service. We are in the early stages of planning, so there will be more details to follow.
Please take a few moments to complete our reopening survey. This will help us in our preparations and planning.
Thank You from Pastor Phil
Twenty years ago, I was ordained into the pastoral ministry at my home congregation. I have been blessed to have served as a pastor all these years in Virginia, Illinois, and now New Jersey. First, I am grateful to God for entrusting me with this noble task. Second, I am also grateful for Barbara and all her support, standing by my side. Finally, I am grateful for the wonderful congregations who have been willing to follow where I believed God was leading us.
Thank you for your recognition of this anniversary milestone and your kind gifts. I was surprised by the parade and was impressed to see so many come out to celebrate together with me, even if we were socially distanced. I thank God for you and am honored to serve as your pastor.
Online Worship for June 14, 2020
Share a comment on our live feed to let us know you are with us! Share a comment on YouTube or Facebook during the live feed to let us know you are joining us. Today, we will begin a new message series based on the Lord’s Prayer. If you miss one of our live stream worship services, they are archived at gs4nj.org/virtual-worship.
We offer the opportunity to participate together with us in the Lord’s Supper during our online worship. We invite you to join us if you share our beliefs and have been instructed in those beliefs. If you plan to participate, make sure to have bread and wine prepared before worship begins.
Good Shepherd Children’s Center

Scrip gift cards will not be available today. But we are grateful for all who have purchased these cards in support of our ministry. This past week we received a check for $2,000 from our participation in this program.
We are excited to share that we have overhauled our online giving to make it easier and more convenient to give. Simply visit gs4nj.org/give to donate. You can donate with a credit card or have the funds debited from your checking account. You can also set up automated giving set up on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or twice-monthly basis.
