We are glad you are here. Join us in celebrating the joy of Jesus on Sunday morning at 10 am. You can participate online or in-person. However you participate, our prayer is that you will be encouraged and uplifted through your participation in our worship. Thank you for being part of our faith community.
Today, we continue our Ephesians message series. We will take a look at Ephesians 4:1-16. Today’s reading marks a transition in the letter to the Ephesians. After exploring God’s amazing grace, Paul now focuses on our response to that grace. One of the most important endeavors is to strive toward unity in the faith. This happens as we discover our giftedness for ministry and grow in maturity.

Verse of the Month

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11–13, ESV

Member Assistance Fundraiser
Bob Shipley has started a Go Fund Me Campaign to help Dan Cinquegrana. You can read what Bob says below:
My name is Bob Shipley and I have friend named Dan Cinquegrana. Dan and I have been friends for 15 years. We met at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Old Bridge, NJ. We have worked together on many service projects at the church throughout the years.
Several years ago Dan was diagnosed with CRPS – Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. CRPS is a very rare chronic neuropathic condition that causes intense pain. This pain has prevented Dan from working – leaving the burden of providing income for the family on his wife, Linda. This reduction in income caused them to lose their house and move into an apartment. Even with these set-backs Linda and Dan continue to be active in the church. Dan helps with the men’s group and Linda is the primary handler for the church’s comfort dog, Lily.
The medication that Dan takes, among the other side effects, causes severe tooth decay. This side effect combined with their inability to afford dental insurance and the resulting lack of dental care recently caused him to have two teeth extracted. He also will have to have more teeth pulled and will require a full set of dentures. Due to his debilitating condition, his medical bills have depleted his and his wife’s savings, and the procedure to replace his teeth with dentures is estimated to cost $16,000.
There is a donor who is willing to match up to $5000 in donations. Please give generously!
There are two ways to give. You can give to the Go Fund Me campaign or you can give to our Brother’s Keeper Fund.
Men’s Bible Studies

Men’s Bible Study meets on, Sunday mornings at 8:30 am. It is a 12-week study on the Gospel of John. You can participate via Zoom or in-person in the church conference room.

Ways to Financially Support Good Shepherd

Online Giving
Visit gs4nj.org/give to donate. You can donate with a credit card or have the funds debited from your checking account. You can also set up automated giving set up on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or twice-monthly basis.
Another option to give is text to give. Text any dollar amount to 84321. We will reply with a link to a quick, self-guided setup process to tie your mobile phone to our church, your donor account, and a payment source.
All of this is easily managed through an online account that is set up the first time you give. There is also an app that can be used to manage your giving. It is available on iOS and Android.
As always checks can also be mailed. Visit our contact page for our mailing address.
Amazon Smile
If you already shop at Amazon, it is easy to support our ministry. Instead of going to amazon.com to shop, just add “smile.” before amazon.com. So the link will be smile.amazon.com. Any time you make a purchase at this link 0.5% of your purchase will go to the charity of your choice. It may not be much, but it adds up over time and as more of us make use of this service. Please keep in mind that you need to use the smile link every time you make a purchase. If you go back to using the regular Amazon link or use the Amazon app, we will not get a donation with those purchases.
Shop with Scrip
Scrip gift cards are available immediately following the Sunday worship in the Narthex. There are many cards to choose from and specific gift cards if you want. Be sure to ask what other cards are available. There are hundreds to choose from. We are grateful for all who have purchased these cards in support of our ministry. Be sure to stop and pick up a few cards.
