He is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia.
We had such a wonderful weekend this past weekend to rejoice in the goodness and grace of God. It has been almost one year since I came to Old Bridge. I can think of no better way to celebrate than the way we celebrated this past weekend. It was so good to see the church full of people and full of joy. With Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, the Saturday Easter Egg Hunt, and Easter Sunday worship, we had more than 600 people pass through our doors. On the Saturday of the Easter Egg Hunt there was barely a spot to be found in the parking lot. Make sure to check out pictures from the weekend on our Facebook page.
A big thank you to everyone who help make it all possible. Thank you to those who helped and prepared for the Easter Egg Hunt. Thank you to the Good Shepherd choirs and musicians who did such a wonderful job with the extra worship services. Thank you to the Good Shepherd Men’s Ministry for preparing Easter Breakfast. Thank you to the Altar Guild for so beautifully decorating the Sanctuary. It is such a blessing to have so many people involved in so many different ways. Thank you also to Shutterbooth NJ for providing the photo booth. You can find your photos on their website. It was a nice extra touch added to the weekend.
Easter weekend also marked the end of the 40 Things to Give up for Lent and Beyond Campaign. We had more than 10,000 people sign up to receive these daily devotions. We heard from so many different people around the world about how these devotions had such an incredible impact on their life and faith. How incredible is it that God is using our little church to make such a huge difference both in our own community of Old Bridge and in places so far away.
God is on the move. It is an exciting time at Good Shepherd. We have taken some great strides in the last year. While it is good to pause and to celebrate, we look forward to the next steps. On Saturday, May 31 we will be hosting a voters meeting at 9am. The purpose of this voters meeting is to approved the budget for the next year. But it is our hope that this voters meeting about more than a budget. Our Admin Board will be presenting a plan of ministry. The budget is only part of that plan. We look forward to sharing the possibilities that are in place because of the doors God is opening up.
Thank you everyone who is a part of the Good Shepherd Family for shining the light of Jesus so brightly.
