Fall Service Times: Good Shepherd has been worshiping at 9 am and 10:30 am during the summer months. We are keeping these same worship times as we enter into the new school year. Sunday School will run during the 9 am worship. Children will come to worship together with their families at 9 and will be dismissed to Sunday School during the worship.
New Church Office Hours: The church office will begin new hours on Monday, September 4th. The hours will now be 9 – 2
Haiti Mission Trip: Have you been to Haiti and can’t wait to go back? Have you never been to Haiti, but have a calling on your heart to go? Then join us March 3-10, 2018 as HCM makes another trip back to Haiti! The vision of this trip falls in line with the vision of our ministry. Our vision is: to the share the story and to inspire God’s people to help the children of Haiti. Pianist or musician needed: Twice a month, the Deacons go to the Golden Living Care Center on Route 18 and hold a service for the people there. They are in need of someone to play the piano (or guitar) to help with the service. It is the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday of the month at 10:15 am – 11 am. Youth Group: The National Youth Gathering will be here before you know it! There was a mandatory youth group meeting for any child who was interested in going to the National Youth Gathering in 2019. A new date for this meeting will be announced soon. Children in grades 7- 10 will be eligible to go as a participant to the gathering. Children in 11th grade to college can participate as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) and should still come to the meeting for information. Parents and children must attend to get information and let the leaders know if they intend to go on the trip. We will cover fundraising, cost of attendance and requirements to go on the trip. Fall Work Day: Fall work day is Saturday, October 7th starting at 9 am. There are many big and small things that need to be done; from cleaning windows to changing lights, etc. All are welcome. Many hands make light works. Colossi ans 3:23 (ESV) — Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
Fall Choir: The fall choir will be singing on October 29th at both the 9 and 10:30 services. All are welcome to come and join us. We will rehearse on Sundays, September 24th, October 1st, 8th & 15th, immediately following the 10:30 service (around 11:45) and on Wednesday, October 11, 18 and 25 at 7:30 pm. We will be doing some special pieces to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.

Blood Drive: Our next blood drive will be on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

Lily Fund Raiser: Thank You to everyone who came out on September 5th to Texas Roadhouse for the Lily fundraiser. We raised $897.52 that night from the food purchases and from T-shirts, and just people putting money in the jar. This will help with Lily’s many upcoming events. We are waiting to hear if Lily will be sent to Florida. She will be going to Boston for a Boston Bruins Hockey Game Fundraiser in October.
