Verse of the Week
Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.Luke 6:47-48 ESV
Thanksgiving Eve Worship
Join us for worship on Thanksgiving Eve at 7pm, Wednesday, November 27. We give God thanks for his many blessings!
Helping Those in Need for Thanksgiving
There are a few families that are in need of help with food for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We need a few turkeys, but mostly need money for gift cards. There are envelopes in the Narthex marked “Thanksgiving Drive.” Please feel free to use one and put in the box under the TV, or in the mailbox outside the church office. If you wish to purchase gift cards, you can get Shop with Scrip Cards at the kitchen counter after service.
Our next Congregation Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 17th immediately following the 10:30 service. Agenda, Minutes from the last meeting, budget and candidate bios are in the Narthex on the table in front of the Shepherd window. Be sure to pick one up to review prior to the meeting. There are 2 members of the board whose terms are up. If you are interested in serving on the Admin Board, please email the church office at email@example.com. We will be discussing some updates in regards to Building and Grounds, GS Children’s Center, the Parsonage Kitchen remodel, and the congregational finances. Please make every effort to attend this meeting.
Thank You from Pastor Phil
Thank you for the kind gifts I received for Pastor Appreciation Month. I am blessed to serve such a wonderful congregation. I appreciate all the encouragement and am honored to be your pastor. Thank you in Christ, Pastor Phil.
Thank You Volunteers!
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to serve for workdays and at the Harvest Fest. We had a large turn out for the Harvest Fest in spite of the postponement. We are grateful for everyone who helped to welcome our community to Good Shepherd.

We have a “security team” that is trying to develop a plan and procedures for our facility in the event we have an emergency (i.e. active shooter, or unknown threat at the school or church). If you would be interested in being a part of this planning team, please email the church office. The next meeting for this planning team will take place on Sunday, November 10th after the 10:30 worship service. If you would like to be part of this planning team, please email the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you miss worship on Sunday morning, you can still watch or listen to sermons online. Just visit gs4nj.org/podcast to find all our messages. We also steam live our messages on Facebook during the late worship service. You can login each Sunday around 10:50 am to hear the message.
