Verse of the Week
Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.1 Peter 4:19; ESV
Now that we are planning on remaining in our church building, we have a great amount of work to do in upgrading and maintaining this facility. We will be doing some painting this weekend to touch up spots in our Children’s Center. We are also looking to begin painting the hallways in the church building that have remained unpainted. We can use some help and would love for you to join us. If you can join us, contact the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The next blood drive is scheduled for Sunday, July 14.
Men’s Brew & BBQ
The Good Shepherd Men’s Ministry will be hosting a BREW & BBQ on Saturday, July 27 at 5pm at Good Shepherd for men of all ages. This is an opportunity to learn about some of the upcoming activities for Men at Good Shepherd this Fall & Winter and to make some new friends. Come and enjoy a good time with a cold one and a burger.
We are excited to announce that we have scheduled a Men’s Retreat for January 24-26, 2020 at St. Joseph’s by the Sea Retreat House in Mantoloking, NJ. We are a long way away from that date now, so we will provide more information in the coming months. But make sure to mark your calendar now to save the date.
Millie Junco Retirement
We want to thank Millie for her many years of service at Good Shepherd Children’s Center. Millie is retiring and we wish her God’s many blessings in her next adventure.

We have switched to a Summer Worship Schedule. There will be one worship service during the summer at 9:30 am with no Sunday School. Nursery Care is available for children 5 years old and younger.
Meals are Headed to Haiti
The 110,000 meals we prepared 2 weeks ago are now on their way to Haiti. Pray for their safe passage to reach those most in need. Also, make sure to check out this Facebook post of the meals being loaded on to the container. In this video, Ashley and Morgan share about the importance of these meals being delivered to Haiti at this time.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support our youth at the Fiesta Fundraiser. We raised more than $2600 at the event. These funds will help the Youth get to the National Youth Gathering in Minneapolis, MN next month.
They will be leaving for the event on July 8. Please pray for safe travel and that this event will be a significant milestone in their journey with Christ.

Active Shooter Training
Sunday, July 21st immediately following the 9:30 service join us for an Active Shooter Training. This is for everyone who goes to the mall, supermarket, movies, concert, work, church, or school. The Old Bridge Police Department will be instructing us on the best ways to improve our chances of survival during an active shooter event. Being informed is the first step to being prepared for such an event. We ask that all Deacons and Ushers be here for this.
