Verse of the Week
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.”Romans 8:18-19 ESV
Update on Property Sale
Last November, our congregation voted to negotiate the sale of our church property. After eight months of going through the process, our Admin Board has informed our lawyer that we are ending negotiations. We will not be moving forward with the property sale. We will be staying put. We appreciate everyone’s patience throughout this process. It was a long time to face such uncertainty.
We may be disappointed to have put so much effort towards this without bearing fruit. But we know that though all things that God’s purpose will prevail. As we turn the page to the next chapter we can be confident that this experience will help lay the foundation for what comes next.
“The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9, ESV)
110,000 Meals for Haiti
We did it! We packed 110,000 meals for children in Haiti! That means in the last three years we have prepared more than 280,000 meals. We are grateful to our more than 500 volunteers who helped to make this possible. We are grateful to our partners who joined us in this effort, including McDivitt Elementary School, Numana, Mission of Hope, Thrivent, and all our other sponsors.
We are scheduled for next year to host the event on Saturday, June 6, 2020. So make sure to mark your calendar now. Visit our website for the event at oldbridgemealpack.org to sign up for our mailing list to receive updates on this event.
