During the new member orientation, we will look at what we believe, what we value, and what it means to be a member of Good Shepherd. Baptism Orientation: Good Shepherd Church of Old Bridge is hosting a baptism orientation on Saturday, February 4 at 11:30 am. This orientation is for any parents who are interested in having their child baptized at Good Shepherd. The orientation will last approximately one hour. It will be led by Pastor Phil. We will look at what we as Lutherans believe and teach about baptism. We will also go through the commitments which parents make before the Lord on the day their child’s baptism. If parents are not members of Good Shepherd they should make arrangements to attend the New Member Orientation prior to the Baptism Orientation. WORSHIP TEAM VISION MEETING: There is an important and urgent meeting scheduled for ALL WORSHIP TEAM MEMBERS on February 12th at 12:15 pm. If you are part of the band, the choir, bell choir, or AV team we ask that you make every effort possible to be a part of this gathering. We will be sharing the future vision of the worship ministry and how you can be part of it to help enrich the worship experience at Good Shepherd. This meeting is also open to anyone who would be interested in learning more or being part of the team.
Fight Night: Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 18 at 6 pm for the Fight Night Broadcast with Dr.’s Les and Leslie Parrott at Good Shepherd. This is designed to be a fun date night for couples and to serve as a relationship game-changer. You’ll laugh, learn, grow closer as a couple. Blankets for Project Linus: The Confirmation Class is collecting material for blankets for Project Linus. The blankets are given to children in New Jersey hospitals. We need material that is 60 inches by 60 inches. Monetary donations are welcomed and appreciated.
Communion Assistant Training: Serve as a Communion Assistant on Sunday morning. We will host our next Communion Assistance Training on Sunday, February 19th at 9:15 am.
Ash Wednesday Worship: Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent on March 1. Good Shepherd be hosting worship at 7 pm on that evening with imposition of Ashes and celebration of the Lord’s Supper. We hope you can join us for this moving worship experience.
Gertrude Hawk Chocolate: The Children’s Center will be selling Gertrude Hawk Chocolates again this year. The sales begin on Sunday, February 5th, and end on February 26th. Delivery is scheduled for the week of March 27th. If you are interested, please use the catalog and sign-up sheet on the kitchen counter. Checks should be made payable to GSCC.

Read the Bible in 2017: Join the Good Shepherd Daily Bible Reading Plan in 2017. Read through the Bible during the year. There are three readings each day. Two readings from the Old Testament and one reading from the New Testament. You can get a copy of the reading plan in the church lobby. Reading plans are also available online at gs4nj.org/biblereading. Flowers for the Altar: If you are interested in having flowers put on the altar in celebration of a birthday, anniversary, birth of a child/grandchild, or in memory of a loved one, please email Marie in the church office at and let her know what date you would like to have them on the altar. Bouquets are $30.00 each, and you can take them home after the 10:30 service on the day you have selected.
