Verse of the Week
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”Acts 20:35, ESV

New Series for Advent
Join us for our new series for Advent. It is a four-part sermon series called Giving Up Christmas. The four messages are:
- Christmas Presence (December 1)
- Christmas is For-Giving (December 8)
- X-mas X-change (December 15)
- The Last-Minute Rush (December 22)
Sign up to receive a daily Advent Devotion from Pastor Phil at philressler.com/mailing-list.
As always, if you miss worship on Sunday morning, you can still watch or listen to sermons online. Just visit gs4nj.org/podcast to find all our messages. We also stream live our messages on Facebook during the late worship service. You can log in each Sunday around 10:50 am to hear the message.
Men’s Bible Study
Join us for Men’s Bible Study on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, starting at 8 am in the resource room.
Our next gathering will be next Saturday (December 14) and will be led by Pastor Phil. We will be looking at the Christmas story to see it in a way we might never have seen it before. It is story that we might think we are familiar with, but in this lesson Pastor Phil will share how much we assume to be true that might not be true. We will also be serving breakfast. So come and join us! All men are welcome to attend.
Our next gatherings will be:
- January 11
- January 25
The Confirmation Class is working on making blankets for Project Linus. We are in need of 60 x 60 inches blanket material to make these blankets. There will be a box on the stage to leave the material. If you cannot get material, monetary donations are welcome and appreciated as well.
We have a “security team” that is trying to develop a plan and procedures for our facility in the event we have an emergency (i.e. active shooter, or unknown threat at the school or church, fire). If you would be interested in being a part of this planning team, please email the church office. The next meeting for this planning team will take place on Sunday, January 5th, 2020 after the 10:30 worship service. If you would like to be part of this planning team, please email the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
