Joining Jesus on His Mission: God has called each of us to join Jesus on His Mission, but many of us struggle in figuring out how to do that. This coming January, Good Shepherd will be launching new groups to help us learn how to do it and encourage us to follow through. If you would be interested in being part of one of these groups or leading a group as a facilitator, let us know on your connection card.
New Member Orientation: Join us for a new member orientation on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 8am-11:30am. During the new member orientation, we will look at what we believe, what we value, and what it means to be a member of Good Shepherd. This is for everyone who desires to learn more about the church, is interested in becoming a member, or desires to review the basics of our faith.
Baptism Orientation: Good Shepherd Church of Old Bridge is hosting a baptism orientation on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 11:30 AM. This orientation is for any parents who are interested in having their child baptized at Good Shepherd. The orientation will last approximately one hour.
Confirmation Program: The Confirmation Program can be a little costly for some families. If you would like to help, you can donate towards the confirmation program, please do so by using the envelope in the pew and clearly marking it “Confirmation Program”.
Sunday School: Be sure to pick up a new Sunday School Calendar on the table in the Narthex.
Join us in reading the New Testament in 2019: Read one chapter each weekday. There are no readings on Saturday and Sunday. Use these two days to catch up with readings you missed or use the time for reflection on the readings from the previous week. We recommend at least 15 minutes each day for devotion. But you can complete the reading in 5 minutes if that is all the time you can devote.
CostCo Help: We are looking for volunteers to help deliver food donated by CostCo to go to Elijah’s Promise. If you are interested in helping one Sunday a month, please see Marianne Krawiec for more details.

January 28 – February 2, 2019 is National Lutheran School Week. In honor of this, we will be hosting a pot luck lunch for the teachers and families of our Children’s Center. The luncheon will be held immediately following the 10:30 service on January 27. We will need people to volunteer to help with set up, clean up, and of course for food. We will need sandwiches, lasagna, baked ziti, salads, chicken dishes, meatballs, etc. We also will need desserts cakes, pies and cookies; drinks (soda, tea, juice coffee, etc.). Please sign up on today’s connection card and let us know what you can bring and if you can help with set up or clean up.
On Monday and Tuesday, January 28 & 29, we will be hosting a “breakfast” for the parents who drop off their kids. This will begin at 6 am, and we will need volunteers to help with set up/clean up and serving. We will be servicing coffee, tea, hot coco, bagels, mini muffins and small quiches. Please let me know if you can donate towards this, or if you can help.
Numana Meal Packing Event: Good Shepherd is once again partnering with Numana and McDivitt Elementary School to help prepare meals for children in Haiti on Saturday, June 1. Mark your calendars now!
