Christmas Poinsettia’s: TODAY is the last day to order Poinsettia’s for Christmas service. There is a sign-up sheet in the flower book in the Narthex under the TV. Flowers are $5.00 each.
Blood Drive: Our next blood drive will be on Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 8 am – 2 pm. You can make your appointment on line at tinyurl.com/good-shepherd-drive or by calling 800-933-2566. If we hit our 30-pint goal, one lucky donor will win a jersey from the team and player of their choice (current players only.) Please sign up on line, or use the sign-up sheet on the kitchen counter.
CONFIRMATION: The Confirmation Class is working on making blankets for Project Linus. We are in need of 60 x 60 inches blanket material to make these blankets. There will be a box on the stage to leave the material. If you cannot get material, monetary donations are welcome and appreciated as well. We need this by December 20th.
Confirmation Class is also in need of monetary donations to help pay for the cost of confirmation, the materials, and retreat. If anyone would like to donate, you can put in the offering plate and clearly mark the envelope CONFIRMATION.
Numana Meal Packing Event 2018: We will be hosting our meal packing event on Saturday, June 2, 1028. We packed 80,000 meals last year, but this year we hope to double that number and pack 160,000 meals. Double the meals will help double the children.
This means we will need to raise $48,000 to make that happen. That is a big number, but we can break that number down. We will pack 740 boxes that contain 216 meals each. Each box is $65. We need just 740 donations of $65. Another way of looking at it is that each meal costs 30¢. For every .30¢ that is donated, we can provide one more meal. It happens just a little bit at a time.
Donations can be made online by going to gs4nj.org/mealpacking. This link will take you to the donation page for our meal packing event on Numana’s website. If you would like to send a check, it can be made out to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and specify “For Numana Meal Packing event” on the memo line.

Portals of Prayer: Due to budget cut backs, we will no longer be offering the Portals of Prayer. Our next shipment, January – March edition, will be our last. You can purchase these on your own by subscribing using the insert in the book, or go to cph.org/portals and subscribe either in hard copy or digitally.

Pianist or musician needed: Twice a month, the Deacons go to the Preferred Care Center (formerly Golden Living Care Center) on Route 18 and hold a service for the people there. They are in need of someone to play the piano (or guitar) to help with the service. It is the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sunday of the month at 10:15 am – 11 am. If you are interested, please contact Tony Hansen, or sign up on today’s connection card.
Gluten Free wafers are now available for those who need it. Please be sure to let the Deacon or Pastor know when you come to the Altar so they can bring it to you.
